The Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC) Finals include:
The “Conference Championships” (Qualifiers Only): A Finals competition between teams within the VCYTC with athletes who achieved a "Top League Mark" in an event during the Regular Season.
The “Co-Conference Championships” (Qualifiers Only): The finals competition between the top finishers from the VCYTC Championships and the Southern California Youth Track & Field Conference (SCYTFC).
JV Finals: Saturday, April 27 at TBD
Post-Season (Qualifiers Only) Varsity Finals: Saturday, May 4 at Moorpark
SCYTFC/VCYTC Dual Conference Championships: Saturday, May 11 at Rio Mesa High School
Although the last Regular Season meet (April 20th) and Conference Championships (May 4th and 11th) are run separately, the League treats these finals as a continuous meet.
General Eligibility: Athletes can compete in events they competed in during the 2024 Season and achieved a result posted on Athletic.net and / or the VCYTC website.
Athletes cannot compete in a “new” event (or compete in an event for the 1st time) at the Conference Final or Conference Championships. (Ex. - If you child did not compete in Shot Put during the season, s/he may not now decide to compete in that event in the Finals or Championships). Your athlete may only compete in an event s/he already tried during the regular season.
Saturday, April 20th
Participation in the Final Open Meet is open to any athlete who competed in an event as noted above, but did not achieve a "Top League Mark" in that event (see below for Top Marks).
Event Limit: Athletes not competing in the Conference Championships the following week have a four event limit at the Conference Finals, which includes a maximum of 3 running events. (Competing in the 4 x 400 m Relay does not count toward an athlete’s 4 event limit). See Event Limits for additional information.
Rules for Athletes Who Qualified for the Championships and Plan to Compete in the League Final:
1) Event Limit: Although the League Finals and Conference Championships are run on separate days, the League treats the Finals and Championships as 1 continuous meet spread over two event days. Therefore an athlete competing in the Championships may only compete in no more than 4 events total over the two event days.
2) Event Entry: Athletes who qualified for the Championships MAY NOT COMPETE in any of their qualifying events in the League Final. Sa(Ex. - if your child qualified to compete in the 100 m and Long Jump in the Championships on, s/he CANNOT COMPETE in the 100 m and Long Jump on Saturday.
Participation in the Conference Championships is limited to athletes who achieved a “Top League Mark” during the Regular Season as follows:
Among the Top 9 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group for a "laned" event (80 m Hurdles, 100 m Hurdles, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m).
Among the Top 12 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group for a "non-laned" event (800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m).
Among the Top 9 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group in a Field Event (Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put).
In addition, each Club in the League will have 1 Relay team (in the 4 x 100 m, 4 x 400 m), for a total of 8 teams.
Go to Results to see a list of Top athlete performances in the VCYTC League.
Event Limit: There is no limit to the number of events an athlete can compete in during the Championship. Athletes can compete in as many events in which they have earned a Top result. However, the number of events an athlete participates in at the Championships decreases the number of events that an athlete can compete in during the League Finals the week before.
The Co-Conference Championship is the final meet of the season and includes the Top finishers in the previous week's Conference Championships from the Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC) and our sister league, the Southern California Youth Track Conference (SCYTFC).
Go to Championships for additional meet information (posted a few days prior to the meet).
